Wednesday afternoon Jefferson City Police said they don't believe the Breaktime robbery is connected to the robberies last weekend in Columbia.

Jefferson City Police Capt. Doug Shoemaker said,
"Our detectives frequently share information with their detectives and of course those comparisons are always taking place but at this point while we always keep our options open and our leads open I don't think we have any reason to believe that it has anything to do with the Columbia robberies."

Original story:

Jefferson City Police are investigating an armed robbery at the Breaktime Convenience Store on Ellis Boulevard.

Police said the robbery occurred at 3 a.m. Wednesday when two suspects entered the Breaktime and demanded money from the clerk. Police said one of the suspects displayed a black handgun and both went behind the cash register and had the clerk open the cash drawer.

No one was inside the business when the robbery happened.

Both of the suspects are described as black males, thin to medium build and are six feet tall. Police said both were last seen wearing black with something covering their faces and only one of them appeared to be armed.

The suspects left the scene with an undetermined amount of cash. No one was injured in the robbery.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Jefferson City Police Department Detective Section or call CrimeStoppers at 659-TIPS to make an anonymous tip. Information can also be reported online at www.jeffcitycrimestoppers.com.
