Oktoberfest kicks off in Jefferson City

Oktoberfest kicked off Saturday in downtown Jefferson City.

There were a number of events including a car show, dachshund derby, and a grape stomp.

KRCG’s Meghan Lane, Daniel Winn and Jenny Weiser won the stomp.

KRCG competed against a local radio station and the Jefferson City News Tribune.

There was a beer garden, tons of crafts, and a full day of family activities.

The festival was held in the Old Munichburg neighborhood. Saturday evening there will be live music.
