COLUMBIA, MO -- It was a sea of pink in Columbia as thousands came out for the "Race for the Cure" on Sunday.

KRCG’s Teresa Snow was the emcee for the event.

The rain held off this year.

The race was on the University of Missouri campus and brought out a lot of students.

Donna Barnhart said the day is extra meaningful because she is a cancer survivor, "We had a great bunch of people with us walking today, family and friends and just being around, nobody was a stranger today."

75 percent of the money raised  will stay right here in Missouri, the other 25 percent goes toward the national cause.
