Westminster student dies after 20-foot fall

(AP) -- A Westminster College student from Latvia who fell nearly 20 feet Saturday onto a walking trail in Fulton has died.

Fulton police say 22-year-old Ruslans Petrovskis died Thursday morning at a Columbia hospital.

Police says Petrovskis and his bicycle were found 20 feet below a bridge on the walking trail.

The Columbia Tribune reports that police do not believe Petrovskis was hit by a vehicle and its unclear what caused the fall.

Petrovskis was majoring in business administration with a marketing emphasis was active in campus activities.
