A Herman man is dead after an ATV accident Sunday in Gasconade County.

The Missouri Highway Patrol said 77-year-old Thomas Arey was sorting cattle on his private residence off Little Bay Road in Herman when the accident happened.

Troopers said Arey accelerated quickly and the ATV overturned. He was pinned underneath.

Troopers say the accident happened around 9:00 a.m. Sunday, but the exact time of the accident is unknown. The Gasconade County Coroner pronounced Arey dead around 5:30 p.m. Sunday.
