A divided Missouri Senate has decided to take some time off before beginning debate on an overhaul of Missouri's tax credits and business incentives.
(AP) --
Debate had been scheduled to start Thursday on the bill, which is the centerpiece of a special legislative session. But Senate President Pro Tem Rob Mayer instead announced the debate would be postponed until Tuesday to give senators more time to review the latest version of the legislation.

The delay also will give time for senators to review an analysis by the Department of Economic Development on the projected costs and benefits of a proposal offering $360 million in tax credits to promote international cargo trade at the St. Louis airport.

The delay was praised by several Republican senators who have expressed concern about the legislation.
