Police investigate Columbia bank robbery

COLUMBIA, MO. --

Columbia police are searching for a man who robbed the West Broadway location of Boone County National Bank on Friday afternoon.

The robbery happened at 1:18 p.m.

The suspect handed the teller a note and demanded money.

The robber fled the scene on foot and headed eastbound on Broadway.

Police used a tracking dog to help them with their investigation.

Investigators are reviewing surveillance video to get a better description of the suspect.

Columbia Police Officer Latisha Stroer said, “He did not display a weapon.  He did put his hand behind his back at one point when handing the teller a note.  No one was injured during the robbery.”

Witnesses describe the suspect as a white male, 6’ tall with a heavy build, dark hair, a goatee and wearing a blue t-shirt, blue jeans, a ball cap and sunglasses.
