A Columbia man is in jail, arrested on suspicion of obscenity sexual exploitation of a minor.
Boone County Sheriff’s Department Cyber Crimes Task Force officers arrested 34-year-old Dominic S. Wilson around 5:00 p.m. Wednesday at his work.
Officers say the investigation started when they got a complaint that Wilson had inappropriate contact with a 16-year-old Boone County girl.
Officers say Wilson met the victim at a Girl Scout meeting this summer where the suspect’s daughter was attending. The victim was 15-years-old at the time. The investigation determined the suspect came in contact with the girl again during summer school and befriended her.
The victim alleges Wilson starting sending her instant messages. A short time later, the victim said Wilson made sexual advances toward her including soliciting, encouraging and persuading her to engage in sexual conduct with him.
In late July, the victim said Wilson sent her numerous sexually graphic photographs of himself. The suspect is also alleged to have pressured and directed the minor into emailing sexually graphic photographs of her.
During a search of Wilson’s residence, numerous items were seized including a computer, digital media, a camera and other items.
Wilson is in the Boone County Jail pending the filing of formal charges.
