Missouri's unemployment rate last month dropped by a tenth of a point to 8.7 percent in July.
The state Department of Economic Development reported Friday that Missouri still had a net decrease of 400 jobs last month.
The state agency also said Friday that the unemployment estimates from June had been revised. The department says Missouri is estimated to have lost 3,000 jobs between May and June, which was the first month in which the effects of the deadly Joplin tornado were included. Initially, Missouri was estimated to have lost more than 12,000 jobs, though that estimate already was lowered to 9,000 lost jobs.
