COLUMBIA, MO -- Update: August 12 at 4:15 p.m.:

Drake Stockton-Kenney has been charged with one count each of First Degree Robbery and Armed Criminal Action. As for the black eye, police haven't said how he got it.

Update: August 12 at 12:23 p.m.:

Columbia Police arrested Drake Stockton-Kenney at 7:33 p.m. Thursday.

Police said Stockton-Kenney had been the subject of police surveillance after a Crimestoppers report named him a person of interest in recent armed robberies.

Authorities said Stockton-Kenney went to the Check 'n Go on Nifong at 4:47 p.m. Thursday and 35 minutes later, they received the hold-up alarm at that location.

According to Columbia Police, Stockton-Kenney was taken into custody at 1304 Count Fleet Court. Police found a handgun at the scene and cash in an amount consistent with what was taken from the Check 'n Go location. He was arrested on suspicion of armed criminal action and robbery in the first degree.

Original Story:

Columbia police are investigating another armed robbery. This latest incident happened at a location already hit once this month.

Police are on the scene of the Check 'n Go on Nifong near Providence. Armed suspects robbed the same location on August 1st. No word yet if this robbery is linked to the previous one and others that have happened in Columbia recently.

The robberies started on July 22nd at the Break Time on Stadium north of the Columbia mall.

Three days later, two suspects tried to rob the Taco Bell on Smile Lane. Police say one suspect accidentally fired a gun, which injured an employee. The suspects fled without money.

Just after midnight on July 27, workers at the Jimmy Johns on South Providence reported an armed robbery.

Police said the suspects’ descriptions were similar in all the incidents. They have yet to make that connection in Thursday evening’s robbery at Check 'n Go.
