Many Missouri law enforcement agencies including the FBI are still searching for 3-year old BeeAnn Rodriguez.

She vanished this past Saturday as she was outside riding her bike in front of her house in Senath, Missouri.

As of now the Missouri Highway Patrol has issued an endangered missing person advisory, but not an amber alert.

KRCG's Facebook Crew spoke with highway patrol Thursday to see exactly what it takes to activate an amber alert.

BreeAnn Rodriguez was last seen at her home in Senath, MO riding her pink bike with training wheels.

"BreeAnn is a Hispanic female. She is approximately 34 inches tall and she weighs about 30 pounds. She was last seen wearing a pink shirt and shorts while riding a pink bicycle with training wheels,” FBI Spokesman Rebecca Wu said.

But without knowing exactly what happened when she disappeared, the highway patrol cannot issue an amber alert.

"There was no evidence that the child was abducted. All they know is that the child is missing and in most cases with just that information we cannot issue an amber alert, because it doesn't fit the criteria,” MO Highway Patrol Captain Tim Hull said.

So what information does the highway patrol need for the Rebecca Rodriguez case in order to issue an amber alert?

"Before an amber alert can be issued law enforcement officials have to have reasonable belief that an abduction occurred, and that law enforcement officials believe that the child is in imminent danger or seriously injured,” Hull said. “Also law enforcement officials have to have enough descriptive information about the victim and the abductor before they can issue an amber alert."

There is much more amber alert criteria the highway patrol has to follow before they issue one.

But in this case, without the amber alert, the FBI and other officials are still treating it like it's a possible abduction.

"Even though we don't have any witnesses saying they saw someone take her. The FBI is investigating as if she's been abducted because the first days and hours are so critical,” Wu said.

"I realize people make mistakes and I don't care where you drop her off at just make sure somebody can get a hold of her and bring her home,” Faterh of Breeann, Edgar Rodriguez said.

Rebecca Wu told me the FBI is looking into many leads and tips so they can figure this all out.

The FBI said that they are looking for an older model white van that may have a ladder rack.

Police ask if you know any information to call the St. Louis Crime Stoppers at (866) 371-8477
