Organizers of the Missouri River 340 is back on the MIssouri River.

The race will be held October 11-14 and runs from Kansas City to St. Charles. It was originally scheduled to move to the Kansas River, but organizers decided just to postpone it. The changes were in response to flooding on the Missouri River.

With the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers beginning to reduce the release of water from dams upstream, water levels downstream are expected to fall. Race Director Scott Mansker said that decision made it possible for the race to continue its tradition on the Missouri River.

About 150 boats are expected to participate.
