Columbia Police are looking for two men who attempted to rob a Taco Bell restaurant Monday night.

Police were dispatched to an armed robbery in progress just before 10:00 p.m. at the Taco Bell in the 1100 block of Smiley Lane.

The investigation concluded two males entered the restaurant wearing masks and gloves. Employees said the suspects were about 6 feet tall and in their late teens to early 20’s.

One of the suspects had an unknown type of handgun. Police said that suspect discharged a bullet. A fragment from the bullet or debris struck hit an employee in the lower leg.  The employee didn’t need to be taken to the hospital.

After the bullet was discharged, the suspects fled the business; taking nothing.

If anyone has any information about this incident, please contact the Columbia Police Department or Crime Stoppers at 875-TIPS to remain anonymous.
