Motorcycle crash kills one

A Versailles man is dead after a motorcycle crash Sunday night in Morgan County.

The Highway Patrol said the accident happened on Missouri 135 North, just south of Ivy Bend Road around 6:15 p.m.

The Patrol said 29-year-old Kenneth Carpenter went off the right side of the road, hit a ditch and was thrown from the cycle.

Carpenter was pronounced dead at University Hospital in Columbia.
