Officers from the Cole County Sheriff's Department and Jefferson City Police Department will be showing off their high heel skills Thursday for a good cause.
T
he "Shoes and Blues Barbeque" is raising awareness and funds for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.
Jim Clardy with the Jefferson City Rape and Abuse Crisis Center said "Besides being three inches taller right now, my calves are hurting a little bit right now, so I don't know after a mile what it will be like, but we're going to do it, its a worth while thing and its the least men can do, we have a lot of brave men to help us out so we're excited."
The event kicks off at 5:00 at Jefferson City's Memorial Park, there will also be a one mile walk in high heels, and a band.
