A 36-year-old Moberly man was sentenced to prison when his case went to federal court in St. Louis Thursday.
Fredrick James Murray was sentenced to five years in prison from a child pornography charge.
The investigation began in May of last year when a Dent County investigator downloaded child pornography from a computer that was reported located in Moberly. That information was sent to the Boone County Sheriff’s Department and the Moberly Police Department.
In August, detectives seized a computer belonging to Murray. Police said more than 60 photographs of child pornography were located on that computer, involving some as young as 10 years old. Detectives said some of the images showed children bound with ropes and handcuffs, with others being sexually assaulted with sexual devices.
In October, the case was forwarded to the FBI and the federal indictment for Murray came in January.
