Dangerous heat will continue to overtake Mid-Missouri today.  With air temperatures coming in a bit higher this afternoon, heat indices will be as much as 10 degrees higher in some areas.

All of our counties remain under a Heat Advisory until 7 PM Saturday.  In addition, Howard, Cooper, Pettis, Saline, Chariton and Randolph Counties are under an Excessive Heat Warning until 7 PM tonight.

The combination of hot temperatures and high humidity values will lead to dangerous heat indices that will range from 105-110.  Conditions such as these can cause sunstroke, muscle cramps and/or heat exhaustion.

Use caution when you're outside in the heat.  Drink plenty of fluids, wear light, loose fitting clothing and keep an eye on the elderly, kids and pets.
