It was the fire department versus the police department Wednesday night in Holts Summit an annual contest known as "Guns and Hoses."

The cops and firefighters tested each others softball skills.

This was the fourth year for the event.

"It's just a fun event,” Holts Summit Police Chief Kyle McIntyre said. “It started with the fireworks festival and us playing games against each other. We started out playing tug of war and it's evolved to this. It's just a bigger competition every year."

The annual Holts Summit Fireworks Festival will be this Friday.

That event kicks off at 3p.m. with food music and, of course, a fireworks display.
