A 22-year-old pedestrian was injured Wednesday afternoon in an accident on Missouri Blvd.
According to the Jefferson City Police Department, the accident happened in front of the K-Mart in the 2300 block of Missouri Blvd. Police said a 2002 Chevrolet truck driven by Abby Luetkemeyer 20, of Jefferson City was turning left out of the K-Mart parking lot and turned into the center lane in an attempt to merge into the eastbound lanes of the road.
At the same time, Serenity Crump, 22, of Jefferson City was walking across Missouri Blvd at the time and the truck struck her. Police said Luetkemeyer used the center lane incorrectly when the accident happened.
Crump was taken to an area hospital for treatment of injuries sustained in the accident. Her injuries were described as moderate.
