ELSTON, MO -- One wreck helped lead to another in Elston Tuesday evening according to state troopers.

The Highway Patrol told KRCG the first crash happened at Windmill Lane and Route T just before 5 p.m. A driver was coming out of a trailer park when it collided with another vehicle.

Just after officers arrived on scene, the second wreck happened. A trooper with the Highway Patrol says a passerby was driving slowly and looking at the first wreck when they hit a pedestrian.

Bystanders said a family member of someone involved in the first crash was having a panic attack. When a friend of the family ran across Route T to get her inhaler the driver hit him.

EMS crews took 2 people to the hospital.

Right now it’s unclear who was responsible for the first crash.
