The latest forecast model for Jefferson City shows a delay in the river reaching the Flood Stage.
On Monday, the National Weather Service forecasted the Missouri River to hit the Flood Stage in Jefferson City Thursday evening. It’s now looking like the river will reach the 23-foot Flood Stage Saturday evening.
In between now and then it actually looks like the river could drop slightly before it starts to rise again.
As of 7 p.m. Tuesday, the Missouri River was at 22.05 feet in Jefferson City.
The all-time record was 38 feet in 1993.
