MOBERLY, MO. -- A 12-year old boy was hit by a car while riding his bicycle in Moberly Friday morning.
Police said the boy was riding his bicycle eastbound on Carpenter St, with a girl also on a bicyclist, and was approaching Cleveland Avenue.
A vehicle, which was facing northbound, had been stopped at the stop sign and allowed the girl to cross the intersection.
A police report said when the boy started to cross the intersection; the vehicle failed to yield, and pulled out in front of the boy, which caused him to be knocked off his bicycle. The vehicle left the scene.
The vehicle was described as a white, 4-door and the driver was described as a heavy set, white male with a gray beard wearing glasses.
As a result of the accident the boy hurt his right wrist and right hip area.
Moberly Police are investigating.
