Clothing donations are now a source of income for the capital area chapter of the American Red Cross.

MPS charity clothing pickup out of St. Louis has partnered with the Red Cross to place clothing drop boxes at many locations throughout Mid-Missouri.

MPS will pick up the clothing on a regular schedule and donate it to thrift stores.

"The company from St. Louis will pick it up and the Red Cross will be paid about 66 cents a pound for the clothing. We'll use that money for our disaster relief services,” American Red Cross Mike Flanagan said.

Drop boxes can be found in Columbia, Jefferson City, Rolla, Holts Summit, Fulton, and Ashland.
