It's time to head outside and get to know the outdoors.

Columbia Parks and Recreation is hosting Family Fun Fests Wednesday night.

Each month the Fun Fests will feature a new theme and offer family entertainment such as music, special performances, art activities, and several other activities that are fun for the whole family.

Several booths will be on display from organizations such as Bass Pro Shops and the Missouri Department of Conservation.

This week's Fun Fest is Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and features Wild Heart, an Emmy winner for children's programming. Wild Heart will perform a musical adventure for young audiences that will lead them in exploring wildlife, habitats, and natural history.

You can check Columbia's website for more information and to find out when more Fun Fests are scheduled.
