Boone County Deputies were out in force Thursday night, watching for DWI's.
A sobriety checkpoint was set up at Obermiller Road and Roemer Road in Columbia.
The checkpoint was in conjunction with the Hallsville Police Department and had the support of the Boone County Chapter of Mothers Against Drunk Driving (M.A.D.D.).
The following actions were taken during the sobriety checkpoint:
- 2 misdemeanor arrests for driving while intoxicated-alcohol
- 6 arrests for driving with a suspended or revoked license
- 2 arrests for possession of marijuana
- 1 arrest for possession of drug paraphernalia
- 2 arrests for no operator's license
- 1 summons for child restraint violation
- 1 arrest for outstanding warrants
Approximately 166 vehicles were checked through the night.
The operation was funded through the Missouri Safety Center and the MoDOT Office of Highway Safety.
