Update: Certification hearing next week for Sedalia juvenile

SEDALIA, MO -- Update: Wednesday, April 13 at 12:00 p.m.

The male juvenile in custody for the murder of 41-year old William Brandon Capps will have a certification hearing next week.

The chief juvenile officer told KRCG the young juvenile will be more than likely be charged for 1st degree murder.

The Pettis and Cooper County juvenile office will not release the name of the juvenile or his age.

All we do know is that Sedalia police told us that the juvenile was familiar with the victim.

Sedalia police are investigating a homicide. They said they received a call from a neighbor around 7:30 a.m. Monday.

Police said William Brandon Capps, 41, of Sedalia, was found dead in his home at 1005 Douglas. Police said Capps died of gunshot wounds.

Police arrested a juvenile subject. They have not released his name, but said he is familiar with the victim.
