The Jefferson City School District has set the schedule for meetings to continue discussion on high school and middle school expansion.
A secondary schools study committee has set four dates for the public to come in and learn about the four options being considered.
All of the possibilities will be shared at the meetings. Some of those include an academy system based on specific career paths, a second high school, or a flag school with satellite campuses.
"We've had a chance to talk to our staff and a few local groups about potential changes for grades 6-12, and it's just exciting to hear the responses," said Superintendent Brian Mitchell. "our hope is that people throughout the district will come to these events, look at what the committee has prepared, and share their thoughts."
There will be two separate types of meetings.
Two public forums consisting of a formal presentation followed by discussion. Those meetings are April 7th and April 12th, those will begin at 7:00 P.M.
The other two events will be open houses. During these meetings where people can come and go as they please, can hear from committee members, and can view presentations of the three options, including architectural drawings. The open houses will take place April 19th and April 21st from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M.
All meetings will be held in the Jefferson City High School cafeteria.
