There's a preliminary hearing in Pettis county court Monday for the man accused of killing an elderly Sedalia woman.

Daniel Maschger is charged with first degree murder in the death of 76 year old Rebekah Marcus. Maschger pleaded not guilty last year to the charge.

A health care aide found Marcus dead in her home in September. She had been strangled and stabbed.

According to court documents, the victim knew Maschger and treated him like a son. Court hearings for the Kansas city-area native Maschger have been repeatedly continued.
