MORGAN COUNTY, MO -- The Morgan County pastor charged with child molestation is going back to court in a different county.

In his status hearing Thursday the judge granted Travis Smith a change of venue to Miller County.

Travis Smith faces a misdemeanor 2nd degree child molestation charge.

Smith is accused of touching a 14-year-old girl inappropriately while on a fishing trip. According to police, the then 14-year-old said Smith touched her chest while they were on the fishing trip and said he later touched her under her shorts.

The accusation prompted an investigator to review an allegation from 2008 when a woman said she had a relationship with Smith while he was helping her deal with family problems.

In December, prosecutors dropped a second charge of felony rape of another woman, because further review determined the woman involved in that case was of legal age when the alleged sexual relations occurred.

Smith, who's a pastor in Stover, will be going to court for a review in Miller County May 19th.
