COLUMBIA, MO. -- Mizzou Officials announced a $1.3 million lecture series honoring former Missouri Senator Kit Bond.

The Christopher S. “Kit” Bond Distinguished Lecture Series will provide a forum for nationally and internationally recognized leaders.

The lecture series will also be a permanently endowed fund at the University.

Mizzou Officials said the new lecture series establishes a lasting tribute to a man responsible for more than $500 million in federal funding for the University of Missouri.

MU Chancellor Dr. Brady Deaton said, “The charge is to provide a forum for world and national leaders who are experts in areas that were so important to Senator Bond which includes the economy, science and security policy.”

The Kit Bond lectures will take place in cities and campuses throughout Missouri designated by a special committee appointed by Chancellor Deaton.
