COLUMBIA -- A young Columbia woman is arrested Friday on child pornography charges.
Kristen Lamb, 20, of 3001 South Providence Rd. Apt 15H, faces one count of possession of child pornography. She has been released from jail after posting a $4,500 bond.
This arrest is the result of an investigation by the Boone County Sheriff’s Department Cyber Crimes Task Force.
In late October 2010 Task Force investigators discovered a computer believed to be in the Columbia area that was offering child pornography through a file sharing program, according to Andy Anderson with the Task Force.
Investigators say during the course of the investigation, files containing child pornography were downloaded from Lamb’s computer
In December, investigators got a search warrant to search Lamb’s apartment and seized one laptop computer.
When investigators examined the laptop they report finding several pornographic videos involving pre-pubescent children.
Investigators say Lamb turned herself in Friday.
The Boone County Sheriff’s Department Cyber Crimes Task Force is comprised of investigators from the Boone County Sheriff’s Department, the University of Missouri Police Department, and the Federal Bureau of Investigations.
