The University of Missouri Board of Curators is meeting Friday at a hotel in St. Louis.
The group will be discussing the addition of another member to its Presidential Search Committee.
The meeting will open with 10 minutes that is open to the public. Following that segment they will go behind closed doors.
According to the Associated Press, the board plans to hire an executive search firm to help in the process of finding the system's next president.
Next week they are planning to announce a 20-person committee of advisors, made up of faculty members and others who would offer suggestions on the hiring process.
Gary Forsee, the systems former president, announced last month he was stepping down to care for his wife. Forsee had been president for three years.
The current acting president is former general council Steve Owens. Owens says he has no intentions of taking the job permanently.
