COLUMBIA, MO. -- It appears Mizzou students are going to make up 2 of their 3 snow days.

The University of Missouri-Columbia shut down 3 days last week because of blizzard conditions.

MU Faculty Leaders and Administrators have been communicating through e-mails and face to face meetings since Friday to discuss plans for make-up days.

MU Faculty Council Members want to shorten finals week by placing “Reading Day” or what some students call “Stop Day” on a Saturday.

Under the proposal, the Friday during finals week would be a normal class day instead of the start of finals.

Finals would take place during the following Monday through Thursday in early May.

MU Faculty Council Chairwoman Leona Rubin said, “We’ve already pretty much agreed that this is the best option.  I don’t think that’s going to be a problem.  We’ll have to officially change the calendar for the year.  That calendar will then get posted on the web.”

MU Faculty Council Members are expected to vote on the academic calendar changes at their meeting scheduled for February 17.
