Most Missourians are not reporting power outages. Ameren Missouri has less than 100 outages for the entire state.
Black River Electric based in Fredericktown currently has the most outages, with approximately 1,800 members without power.
Galloping lines caused by high winds are causing outages in the northern end of Cuivre River Electric's service area in Pike County. There were approximately 1,025 without power.
Wind-drifted snow is hampering repair efforts for Callaway Electric, Fulton. In the prairie areas of its northern service area in Montgomery County, wind has caused nearly 1,000 outages. Employees are reporting the worst case of lines "galloping" they have ever seen.
Consolidated Electric Cooperative based in Mexico reported around 250 members without power.
Co-Mo Electric Cooperative, Tipton, is reporting trucks equipped with chains are unable to move in the deep and drifting snow. Between 125 and 150 of its members were without power Wednesday morning.
And utility companies are warning residents are not out of the clear yet. Strong winds Wednesday could still cause more outages.
All Missouri electric cooperatives remain on high alert as this storm continues to push through the state. Poor road conditions and frigid temperatures will hamper repair efforts should outages occur.
