Update: Repeat offender spent 2 hours in jail

Update: Thursday, Dec. 30 at 6:00 p.m.:

Michael Tinker spent just 2 hours in jail after leading police on a chase in Columbia.

Deputies told KRCG his bond was $19,000. He bonded out of jail just after midnight Thursday.

Tinker has 21 prior felony arrests and 14 convictions.

Boone County deputies made chase Wednesday night after a man failed to stop for a traffic violation.

It happened about 7:30pm on Highway 763 and  went through various city streets before ending at a strip mall at 700 Vandiver in Columbia.  The driver fled on foot but was quickly caught.

Deputies arrested 39 year old Michael Tinker for possessing methamphetamine, marijuana. and drug paraphernalia.  He was also wanted for driving with a suspended  license, careless and imprudent driving and resisting arrest.

Boone County authorities say Tinker has  21 prior felony arrests and 14 prior felony convictions.

He's jailed on $19,000 bond.
