A blanket of snow has covered most of mid-Missouri.

The first location to see the winter weather was Pulaski County, who started seeing freezing rain along I-44 around 3:30 Friday morning.

It turned to snow and began falling across the middle of the state between 4:00 and 5:00.

At around 7:00, around two inches has already fallen in some areas. Another 2-3 inches could fall before Saturday morning for a Christmas total of 3-5 inches.

MODOT crews are out plowing the roads which are slushy and slick. Especially secondary roads which have not been plowed yet.

Remember to allow more time for travel and drive carefully.
