Boone County detectives and deputies checked on sex offenders Wednesday to make sure they were compliant with federal and state laws.

Convicted sex offenders are required register with the county’s sheriff department after moving into the area.

Boone County Det. Tom O’Sullivan said in a news release that after checking about 50 residents, there were no arrests made for non-compliance.

Deputies will go back to homes where no one answered the door at a later date to check on the resident.
