A Missouri bank is seeking to block enforcement of the state's new ethics law.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that Legends Bank and its president filed suit Monday in Cole County Circuit Court.
The suit cites language that seems to limit the bank's right to make political donations
The ethics law took effect in August and is partly aimed at limiting politicians' ability to hide the source of money by moving it through several political action committees.
Senate President Pro-Tem Charlie Shields sponsored the bill and said the goal was never to stop banks or corporations from making political donations.
He said the language should be fairly easy to fix.
