ST. LOUIS (AP) -- St. Louis police said a 17-year-old girl was critically injured when she was hit by two vehicles while she served as a flag girl during an illegal street drag race.
Investigators declined to publicly identify the victim, who they say was hit by a car after waving a flag to start the race. That impact sent her into the path of a truck, which drove over her body.
Police said both vehicles were the ones involved in the race, and both drivers fled the scene.
There was no immediate word on any arrests or charges.
