COLUMBIA, MO. -- Robin Pingeton is the 4th Head Women’s Basketball Coach in Mizzou history. With 15 years of coaching experience, Pingeton replaces former Head Coach Cindy Stein. Pingeton spent her last 7 years as the Head Coach at Illinois State and looks forward to the challenge of turning around Mizzou’s struggling program.
Pingeton said, “I think that we have fans that are dying to support a winning program. We have to put a product on the court that they can be proud of, a product that wins. That’s going to be a journey within itself. We’re moving in that direction, everyday, one step at a time. I truly believe that this is a place that you can win championships.”
Pingeton has a 5-year contract with a base salary of $300,000 a year. MU Athletic Department Officials plan to spend more money on Women’s Basketball to help attract better players and more fans.
Pingeton called herself a Christian who happens to be a coach when she first got to Mizzou. Her faith is number one in her life behind family and career.
Pingeton said winning isn’t everything.
Pingeton said, “It’s about impacting lives. It’s about preparing our players to be successful on the court and in their personal lives and graduating them into the working world.”
