ST. LOUIS (AP) -- A St. Louis police officer is recovering after being shot in the buttock by a suspect.
The shooting happened early Thursday when the officer saw a man acting suspiciously on the city's north side. The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that the officer pointed his spotlight at the man, who suddenly turned and began shooting.
Several shots struck the 27-year-old officer's vehicle. He was taken to a hospital, where he was treated and released.
The suspect was arrested and police say charges are pending.
