Update: U.S. Highway 50 East open again

Update October 19, 10:10 p.m.

Jefferson City Police told KRCG News the accident scene is now cleaned up and traffic is flowing again normally.

Police said the accident involved one vehicle, but did not disclose if anyone was injured in the accident.

Original story:

The Highway Patrol temporarily shut down U.S. Highway 50 East in Jefferson City after a two car accident Friday evening.  Traffic was rerouted onto Dix Road.

A KRCG reporter at the scene said two vehicles were upside down in the ditch.  We'll continue to update this story as more information becomes available.
