The man charged with killing an elderly Sedalia woman has a preliminary hearing Monday in Pettis County.

Daniel Maschger pleaded not guilty last month to first degree.

Maschger charged with first degree murder in the death of 76-year-old Rebekah Marcus.

A health care aide found Marcus dead in her home in September. She had been strangled and stabbed.

According to court documents, the victim knew Mascherger and treated him like an adopted son.
