Jefferson City man arrested in shots fired incident

JEFFERSON CITY, MO. -- Jefferson City Police officers responded to a shots fired call in the 500 block of Ellis Boulevard around 5:15 p.m. Thursday.

Upon investigation, officers found spent casings and a gun in a residence there.

A 21-year-old man was taken into custody for unlawful use of a weapon, though police have not yet released his name.

No one was hurt in the incident.

Captain Doug Shoemaker said in a statement, "This incident is not related to the earlier incident at 9:00 a.m. in the 500 block of Ellis Boulevard."
