CALLAWAY COUNTY, MO. -- Three people went to the hospital Wednesday morning after a school bus and vehicle crashed on I-70.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol said the North Callaway R-1 school bus was switching from the left lane to the right lane near the 151 mile marker, just east of Kingdom City, when it hit the rear end of the passenger vehicle.

The minor collision caused both vehicles to lose control. The passenger vehicle ended up overturned in the median. The school bus crossed the eastbound lanes and landed on its side on the right side of the roadway.

The Highway Patrol said there was one student on the bus at the time. The student and both drivers went to University Hospital with minor injuries.

The patrol is still investigating the crash.
