The Columbia Salvation Army will be taking Christmas applications starting Monday.

You can stop by their Ash Street location to sign up. You'll need to bring a picture I.D. and social security cards for all household members.

You'll also need to show a proof of income for the past 30 days.

"We look forward to helping the people in need in our community." says the Salvation Army's Major Katrina Mathews. "This help comes through the generosity of our donors and we are very grateful to them."

And in the Lake of the Ozarks area, donating food items could win you a shopping spree.

Every day until December 21st, people can bring non-perishable food items to Stockton's Pub and Grill in Osage Beach.

The restaurant is helping to collect food for the needy, in partnership with the Food Bank for Central and Northeast Missouri.

In addition to sharing a portion of their profits with the food bank, if you donate to Stockton's campaign, you'll be entered in to win a $500 gift card to the Osage Beach Premium Uutlet Center to be given away the day after Thanksgiving.
