COLUMBIA, MO. -- Update: Friday, Nov. 5 at 2:57 p.m.

Derrick Washington did not appear in court for his preliminary hearing Friday afternoon. Instead, Washington’s attorney was in court to waive the preliminary hearing.

Boone County Prosecutors requested that it should be mandatory for Washington to appear in all future court dates.

The judge threw the request out.
