IBERIA, MO. -- A fatal fire in Iberia killed two men Sunday morning. Three teenage boys saw the fire and came to the rescue of the one survivor.

Austen Hostetler, one of the boys said, "All of the sudden, we looked over and saw a whole bunch of white smoke."

Austen Hostetler, Kyle Burke, and his brother Michael stayed up all night Saturday into Sunday morning. Around 5 a.m they saw smoke and new something was wrong, Hostetler said, "We ran down and got about half way to town and as soon as we turned the corner we saw the whole back right side of the house on fire."

He said, "We saw their grandmother wondering around outside. We helped her away from the fire and smoke so she wouldn't get harmed."

75 year old flora Jean Parkison made it out of the blaze, but she told the boys her husband and son were still inside.

Kyle Burke said, "What made me go in the most was when she was saying 'I can't let my son die, I can't let my husband die. Don't let them.' And then I was just like someone has got to get in there."

They yelled through windows and kicked in a door, but the smoke was just to thick. 58-year old Jimmy Parkison and his father, 76-year old James Parkison, died in the fire.

Amy Durham is the daughter and granddaughter of the victims, "I am absolutely devastated by this fire, you never expect something like this to happen but I am so grateful for those boys who saved my grandmothers life. My grandma would have gone back in that house if it had not been for them."

Durham said the Fire Marshal thinks the fire was caused by faulty electrical wiring in the back of the house. Ironically, new wiring was going to be installed this week.
