Sobriety checkpoint ends with 21 arrests

COLUMBIA, MO. -- The Boone County Sheriff's Department is reporting 21 arrests from Saturday night's sobriety checkpoint.

Deputies stopped nearly 542 drivers at the checkpoint on Highway 763 N at Brown School Road in Columbia.

The checkpoint started Saturday night just before midnight and lasted until just before 3 A.M.

Of the 21 arrests, 5 were DWI offenses, 5 were adult liquor law violations, 7 were for driving with a suspended or revoked license, 3 were not having a valid driver's license and the last was for possession of marijuana.
