COLUMBIA, MO. -- Pumpkin pie lovers have a new seasonal treat.

Andy’s Frozen Custard in Columbia is now offering Pumpkin Pie Concretes for a limited time.

They start off with Andy’s Frozen Vanilla Custard that’s made fresh every hour. Add a whole slice of fresh baked pumpkin pie, mix them together and you have one of Columbia’s most popular frozen treats.

“You can come here any time of year and try something different," Andy’s Frozen Custard Owner Brandon Arnold said. "You can pick your own toppings to make a unique treat that’s just to your liking. It’s a lot of fun to work here and it’s really enjoyable to eat here.”

The secret behind the taste of these Pumpkin Pie Concretes is that every pumpkin pie is baked fresh from the oven in Andy’s kitchen. Having fresh ingredients in a pumpkin pie concrete is very important, but what’s even more important is to make sure you blend all of the ingredients together correctly.

Not everyone can make the perfect concrete, including me.

Let’s leave that to the professionals. Emily Ellis has been making concretes for more than four years. Ellis said no one can pick a favorite because there are so many tasty choices.

“It’s more common to have favorite topping combinations than something specific," Ellis said. "Mine is constantly changing, I think.”

Andy’s Pumpkin Pie Concrete season lasts from October through Thanksgiving. You can come enjoy a fresh Pumpkin Pie Concrete now through the end of November.
